LITTLE KICKERS Let’s kick it! During this program, children will learn fundamental soccer skills in a lively and interactive team environment. Participants will get to showcase their new abilities in practice sessions. Little Kickers meets twice a week for three weeks during both the spring and fall seasons. For young anglers (6 and under), the parents may assist but the child must be the one actively fishing. Anglers must register online to participate in this event, limited on-site registration may be available. Limited rods/reels and bait will be available on a first come, first serve basis, so we recommend bringing your own equipment, if able. Fish caught before the start of the derby or after the end of the derby will not be entered in to win a derby prize. We will have awards for longest fish, heaviest fish, and most fish per age group (3-6, 7-10, 11-14). Parents and families are also welcome (anglers 17 and older must have a fishing license). Fishing License Requirements Anglers 17+ in the state of Texas are required to have a fishing license to fish. To participate in the Fishing Derby, anglers 17+ will need a valid fishing license that includes a freshwater fishing endorsement. Texas residents can get a freshwater fishing license for $30.00 at any sporting goods store.

Come join us at Harry Myers Park for a fun morning of fishing! Fishing Derby’s happen twice per year, once in the Spring and once in the Fall.

Fishing Derby Information

Anglers must be between the ages of 3 – 14. For young anglers (6 and under), the parents may assist but the child must be the one actively fishing.
Anglers must register online to participate in this event, limited on-site registration may be available.
